Sophia Rook Empty Sophia Rook

Post by Wisp Sat May 31, 2014 7:07 pm

Name: Sophia Grace Rook
Age: 17
Gender: Female
Occupation: Breeder

Appearance:
A female with long auburn hair that reaches past her shoulders when down, Sophia is most often found to wear her hair in a rather messy ponytail. She sports a sideswept fringe, often accomapnied by loose, flyaway wisps of hair. Other than the length of her hair, she is identical to her twin sister; her eyes are a bright blue colour and both twins are average in height though are rather fit due to how active they both are. In cities, Sophia can normally be found wearing dark navy skinny jeans with varying colour tops, usually accompanied by some sortr of cardigan or jacket. Occasionally she will also wear a patterned scarf to spice things up a bit. When exploring routes or areas where scarves and the like could get caught in things, she tends to replace her jackets and tops with long sleeved -usually striped- jumper or thicker top, both to keep warm and in an attempt to prevent extra fabric from catching in trees or the like.

Personality:
Sophia is a fiery young female who is not afraid to speak her mind. She is very outgoing and isn't afraid to take risks, sometimes being quite reckless. Despite this she cares very much for her Pokémon and her slightly-older-by-a-few-seconds twin sister Coraline and will often be found to help others with their problems if she can.

Likes&Dislikes:
Being the carefree spirit she is, Sophia loves to explore and investigate new places and has done so nearly all her life alongside her twin sister. She also loves being around Pokémon, a love likely born of the fact that their parents would not let them near the intelligent creatures.
Sophia also has an affinity for anything striped, loving the pattern for some inexplicable reason. This love is usually shown through her choice of clothing, though she will often also wear striped canvas pumps if the weather is nice.
Another thing Sophia seems to enjoy since coming to the Rinko region is challenging other trainers to beat Mimi in a 1v1 battle when she has nothing better to do. Most often the Buneary ends up using her Copycat move to great effect, often frustrating those she battles as the duo copy the opposing Pokémon's moves almost constantly.

One of the things Sophia extremely dislikes however, is people who do not appreciate the beauty and diversity of Pokémon, chiefly her and Coraline's parents. Though despite this, she loves them as they are family and would likely be less tolerant of those who she did not personally know who shared her parents's attitude. That considering, she and her twin sister packed up and left their parents when they gave them the choice of getting rid of Mimi and (Farfetch'd) or leaving themselves, essentially disowning them, so strangers be warned. Another thing she won't tolerate is those who catch Pokémon only to use them and their abilities for battle and to achieve their own ends. She does however respect trainers who bond with their Pokémon, forging unbreakable friendships as she and Coraline did, but abusing Pokémon and their abilities is something she cannot and will not tolerate.
Sophia also hates Justin King because her sister goes all 'googly eyed' for him.

History:
Sophia and Coraline were brought up as part of a wealthy family that lived in Hoenn's Sootopolis City. Their parents were kind to them, maybe even spoiled them a bit, but there was one thing that they never let their twins have - Pokémon. The family had always despised Pokémon after their company was nearly thrown into bankruptcy by them. They had never clearly explained just how pokémon had done this to them, usually changing the subject before they got too far into it.

The girls however had adored pokémon since they were very little, and did almost everything together. They would often go to the water that practically made up the city to throw food into the water, hoping to attract some pokemon they could interact with. Their efforts were successful, as they managed to attract a Relicanth and an Alomomola. The two would return there each day to play with the two fish Pokémon, despite their parents wishes. On one clear day, the twins plucked up the courage to explore further, the Relicanth and Alomomola carrying them into the nearby caves of Sootopolis that weren't otherwise accessable from the shore. It was dark within, the light only reaching so far from the entrance, but this didn't deter the adventurous duo from going further, following some mysterious blue orbs of glowing light. When reaching deep enough into the rocky cave system to touch the tiny orbs, they were revealed to have been produced by a Mawile, using it's Fairy Wind move to produce makeshift light for the Pokémon that lived within the cave. In awe at the natural beauty and creativity of Pokémon, this only spurred the twins interest in them and they subsequently returned to the cave many times afterward, eventually befriending the Mawile who created the light.

Inside the cave, they would often find trinkets and junk the pokemon able to cross the water and reach town had often brought over. Amongst these items, they found a rather strange rock carried in a bag. The "rock" had a strange reddish-orange color to it and appeared to have something trapped within it. When they convinced their parents to send them to Rustburo City for a science project, the scientists there revealed it to be an Old Amber, and revealed that they could revive it! Curious to see what prehistoric Pokémon's DNA was to be found within the Old Amber, they allowed the researchers to revive their find, it benefitting both sides as it allowed them to test their research and if successful, would give the twins a new Pokémon friend. When the twins returned to find out what the researchers had revived from the fossilised remains, they were given an Aerodactyl in a Pokéball.

When they returned to Sootopolis, they then realized that the Aerodactyl would have to be stashed and hidden. The twins decided to trust the Mawile in keeping the newly revived Aerofactyl hidden. The secret remained kept, and the two had their first pokemon they owned all to themselves.

Not long after they revived the prehistoric beast of the skies, the two spotted a Pelliper fly into the Cave of Origin. Curiousity egging them on, they had the water pokemon they had befriended swim them over and arrived just in time to see the Pelliper taking something out of a bag it had been carrying and placing it by some rocks. It's job completed, it flew away once it had finished placing the strange objects, and that left the girls to go investigate.

It was two eggs, one brown Egg with lighter brown marks on it, and another brown Egg that held a marking as if it was holding something. The two knew that the eggs would not survive long on their own, and decided to take them home and keep them hidden inside. They kept the eggs seperated from each other so that if one was found the other might still remain a secret, but it was not long before they hatched.

A Buneary and a Farfetch'd had burst from the eggs, and the energetic duo caused quite a rukus within the house. The parents would have had to be complete idiots to not notice a Buneary hanging from a chandelier and a Farfetch'd floating in their tub. Enraged with the girls, their parents had tried to take away the pokemon and put them on the market for some cash. The girls, of course, refused, resulting in the parents threatening to kick them out of the house if they didn't hand over the pokémon. They hadn't meant it seriously, they had just wanted to scare them into obeying.

The twins accepted their offer.

They gathered the things they would need, offering the chance for the fish and the Mawile to come with them. The three pokemon accepted and they decided to split the pokémon between each other. It was decided that Sophia would take care of the Aerodactyl they had revived as she had been the one to find the Old Amber, and the Mawile as she had bonded most closely with it since first touching it's Fairy Wind lights within the cave. Coraline had always admired the strength of the two water Pokémon and loved it when they demonstrated their Hydro Pump move, and so it was decided that she would take care of Alomomola and Relicanth, leaving them to decide between the two eggs. This was the easiest decision of all as each twin had taken care of a different egg when they had split them up to better hide them (though unsuccessfully) from their parents. As Sophia had raised the Buneary, it was agreed that she would look after it, with Coraline looking after the Farfetch'd she had raised.

So at the age of 17, the two set off to discover even more pokemon, ready to help and even catch more as they go; but they had no set goal. They wren't after gym badges, ribbons, or even an official job. They were just two girls researching and discovering pokemon on their own; Pokémon Breeders as some would call them.

Extra: In case it wasn't clear before, Sophia is twins with Coraline Rook who often calls Sophia 'Soap' when she wants to mess with her. In reply, Sophia calls Cora 'Corn dog' and the two will often exchange these less than desirable nicknames when poking fun at one another.

---Pokémon--

Caden the Aerodactyl:

Tsuyomi the Mawile:

Mimi the Buneary:

Extra 2.0: One of Caden's abilities is Pressure, which in the games causes a Pokémon to use double the PP when they attack him, but in RP could I reason it as he would make other pokémon kinda hasty and sloppy in their attacks due to putting extra pressure on them as Aerodactyl is such a huge and frankly terrifying Pokémon xD
