GYM MECHANICS
Gyms and badges are one of the biggest parts of the main Pokémon franchise and are included in Rinko. They act more like the Gyms in the anime rather than the games and have a specific way of being carried out.

BATTLE FORMAT
Gym Battles are 3 Pokémon against 3 in a Single Battle. Only the challenger can freely switch Pokémon. The Leader can only switch by using a move that allows them to do so. If they were to switch without using a switching move then the Pokémon being switched out counts as being defeated and cannot be used for the rest of the match. Still, the challenger is required to send out their Pokémon first.

The Gym Leader's Pokémon's Levels are determined by which Pokémon their opponent brings into battle. When creating a thread to challenge the Leader the Trainer must list 6 Pokémon that they are bringing to the battle. They may use any 3 of these 6 Pokémon and the Gym Leader's Pokémon Levels will be determined by the Pokémon with the highest Level. One of the Leader's Pokémon will be above. that number, one will be equal, and one will be below. The amount different is determined by the number of badges you have.  That number is determined by the badges the challenger has. The strongest Pokémon has the amount of badges obtained added to it, while the weakest has the number of badges not obtained subtracted. If you had no badges the strongest Pokémon would have +0 and the weakest -6, while if you were fighting for your final 6th badge you would have +5 and -1.

Also, it is to be noted the Pokémon the Gym Leader has can be sent out in any order.

Lastly, each Gym is custom made to fit the Leader's specialty. The Leader and the Trainer are both able to use this two their advantage and possibly even give the other a disadvantage.  If you chose to ignore it you may be denied the badge. Even if you don't have any ways to use it to your advantage you stl are tequired to deal with it.

BADGES AND THE CHAMPION
Rinko has 6 Gym Badges to collect. With each badge all your Pokémon gain one extra move slot. Badges cannot be given to other characters nor lost. Once all 6 Badges are obtained a trainer can ascend the Champion's Tower to face the Elite Four and Champion.

Here the Elite Four are handled differently. Instead there is no Victory Road, but a tower in Solumina City with Seven Floors. The first floor contains the badge check and an elevator that takes challengers up and down between the four floors that contain the Elite Four. These floors can be taken in any order and the elevator has a Pokémon healing station. Once all are completed you can head up to the Champion's room on the fifth floor and then if you win, the Hall of Fame Room is at the very top.

Elite Four Battles have the same rules as regular ones except they have different methods of determining the levels. They still take from your most Experienced Pokémon. One will have the highest level with added strength based on which Elite Four member you are facing. The other two will be exactly the highest Pokémon's level. If you were facing the third Elite Four member it would be +3.

The NPC Champion battle is very loose. It's 6 against 6 in a single battle with no holds barred on switching. All of the Champion's Pokémon become progressively stronger, with one being -1 of the challenger's strongest and then unmodified and finally +1, +2, +3, and +4. If your character defeats champion you have the option to have that character to become the new champion or to leave the title and go home.

If your character becomes the champion, they will have to take on any other user characters that might reach the throne of the champion. Having more than a month of not even logging into the site will result in being stripped of the status and the Champion being replaced with the NPC before your character, the story being the NPC having beaten your character.

Every time someone desires to to challenge the spot of champion, they will have to go through the elite four each time. If they are constantly challenging back to back, they will be forced to lose in the elite four.

Champion battles between two users will work like normal battles, who ever has the higher level has a bigger chance of winning unless set up is in place. Battles will be checked by admins and mods to make sure the Champion isn't cheating Out of Character wise to keep the title on their character. If the User Champion holds the title for more than two months after a decent amount battles, meaning they will not be affected if they have been unchallenged for this amount of time, they will automatically be stripped of the title and will have to re-try the elite four to become champion once more.
