First topic message reminder :

As the sun was shining brightly in the clear skies above Cadencia City, David was walking into the city along with his Misdreavus, Yukari, and his Absol, Midnight, being right beside him. As the trio walked in, David and Yukari began to take in the beauty of the area they had just entered. The sparkle of the nearby waters due to the sun's shine looked absolutely magnificent, living up to what David had heard about the city's beauty. Having lived in a grassland area all of his life, David had never seen such beautiful waters before except on television, so it was a real treat to see this pure eye candy of a sight. Yukari in particular was floating all around as her curiosity took over, looking at everything and anything that she could while Midnight kept an eye on her, not caring about the beautiful location.

"You seem to really like this place Yukari." David said towards his Misdreavous friend as she nodded and continued to float around. Her eyes seemed to sparkle as much as the waters were whenever she got to see something new. David loved to see her like this, in complete bliss caused by curiosity. He continued to walk on, wondering what was in store for the trio as the walked on.

"Um, yeah it's still your choice. I don't want to force you into something you don't want to do, but don't you think it would be a good experience? Or at the very least, kinda fun? Wouldn't it be fun Yukari?" David said after hearing the old man speak to the trainer, with Yukari nodding in response. He didn't want the trainer to do anything she didn't want to do herself so hopefully his words and the words of the old man persuaded her to participate in the tag battle.

Chase still looked hesitant to say yes, though she braved a small smile at the older man's complement, appreciating his attempt to convince her otherwise.
That was when the woman who had suggested the idea in the first place offered her own solution to the problem.
"If it's crowds that are bothering you, we could always find a place where people are unlikely to bother us or gather to spectate," she commented. She wasn't particularly in the mood to go trawling around the city finding another trainer who was willing to participate.
"I know this one plaza that isn't used by tourists all that often. It was a great place for modelling for photographs..." she trailed off as she felt her anger at being fired rise up again, along with her determination to battle.

Ditrysia switched her gaze to her trainer, expectantly waiting for Chase's answer. Chase blinked; the girl's suggestion seemed to solve all of her problems.
"Okay. I'll join your tag battle," she replied finally, a little smile crossing the Butterfree's face at her trainer's change of heart.

The woman's eyes seemed to light up with a fiery passion for battle as Chase accepted, "Brilliant! Follow me!" And with that she was off, her long golden hair flowing behind her in the gentle breeze as she walked away. Pausing, she turned back for a moment, "Oh, I'm Kristina by the way."

Taking off his hat for the greeting the older trainer responded:
"A pleasure to make your acquaintance, Kristina. My name is Robert and this is Kenny."
The Zubat let out an excited chirp once again.
The doctor was happy to hear, that the young girl had changed her opinion on the battle, although he did not really comprehend why she had been sitting in a crowded street if she had trouble with crowds and why the three of them did not qualify as a "crowd". At least the doctor himself and Kristina definitely hadn't met her before after all.

"Nice to meet you all. I'm David. That's Yukari and that's Midnight." David said, greeting the others as they had greeted themselves. Yukari let out a small cry as if she was saying hi, while Midnight just stood there, keeping her eye in the others. David found himself smiling as the trainer finally agreed to participate in the tag battle of her own free will. He was glad to see her feel less awkward and act more natural, at least to David anyway. Now that she was participating, everyone was becoming more friendly and the overall atmosphere was nicer and less weird. Things were definitely shaping up for an interesting confrontation.

Chase moved to follow the others as Kristina lead them towards the plaza she had described, however she paused to upturn her shoes into the water of the canal, grains of sand pouring out of them from her trip to the beach earlier that day. After everyone else had introduced themselves, she sat on the edge of the canal briefly to slip her brown shoes back on, glancing up with a small smile as she spoke, "I'm Chase," she paused for a moment as she pulled the second shoe on, "...and this is Ditrysia."

With both shoes now back on, she wiggled her feet around a bit to make sure they were on comfortably before she followed the other three, Kristina leading them to the plaza she had described previously.

As they reached the empty plaza, Kristina sped up her pace and spread her arms wide, turning to face the other three, "I think this space is big enough," she grinned, eager to get this battle started.

After a short walk the quartet had reached a rather big plaza that still was surprisingly huge, especially for a town like this. What made this place so deserted the gentleman wondered.
But that was nothing to be concerned with for the moment as there was battle to be done.
"Has the descision of pairings been made already?", the man inquired.
"If not, then we should get to that I presume."
Robert was wondering how well he would be doing - he had not battled very often thus far after all, only having recieved his first Pokémon about a year ago.
But he was not going to let his own inexperience and ineptitude stop him from fulfilling a lady's request.

When the group reached the plaza, David and Yukari both began to stare in awe at the sheer size of the place. This was the first time he had ever seen a plaza like this before and it look really great to him. Yukari seemed to share this sentiment as she began floating around to examine the plaze, with Midnight keeping her eyes on her to make sure she didn't go too far. Midnight also seemed to be a little less cautious now, most likely due to the large flat area of the plaza making it easier to keep an eye on everything that would happen. David then thought about which person he wanted to partner up with, and came to a conclusion rather quickly.

"So for the teams, I can be with Robert on one team while Chase and Kristina can be on another. Unless you want something different." David said, wanting to be partners with Robert due to mostly being around older people like his grandparents in the past, thus making interaction with them more natural for him. He didn't want the others to be forced onto teams they weren't okay with though and would be fine with being on a team with someone else if necessary.

"Sounds good to me!" Kristina grinned, the fire still present in her amber eyes. She clearly didn't mind who she was paired with, as long as she got to partake in this tag battle. Chase nodded her approval of the chosen pairings, smiling a little at her new tag partner's enthusiasm. At least one of them was confident in their ability.

Chase watched as Kristina moved to the other end of the wide plaza before grabbing a pokéball from her bag, "How about we get this started!" she yelled, becoming quite the opposite of the stereotypical woman in her former line of work.
Before Kristina could get too ahead of herself, Chase joined her on the other side of the plaza, rooting through her bag for Aislinn's pokéball.

The old man grinned slyly.
"Very well then, let us begin. I have no objections."
As the doctor nodded to his Pokémon, the Poison type fluttered in front of him, letting out a high-pitched battle cry. This was going to be interesting, an useful exercise in strengthening the bond between a Pokémon and its trainer. Regardless of how this battle would end, all of them would have learned something new about their Pokémon and themselves. How would the other three trainers be fighting?
Would they see this battle as an opportunity to become stronger as well?
Hopefully they would - they seemed to be promising trainers after all.
It would be a shame to waste that potential.

David was glad that everyone was okay with the pairings that he had chosen, mostly due to him being glad that no one felt awkward with the teams and also because he was with Robert. There was a certain sophistication about him that appealed to David. He also seemed to be very wise, which made him curious to see how he would battle.

"Alright Midnight, your on. Yukari, make sure to play close attention to this battle okay?" David said, with Midnight running in front of him upon hearing her name, a focused look on her face. Yukari floated beside David, looking somewhat disappointed that she didn't get a chance to battle, but David knew that seeing four different trainers battle each other would probably give Yukari some ideas for battle strategies, which would be better in the long run.

Releasing Aislinn next to her, Chase watched with a half smile as the Minccino materialised, raring and ready to battle. However, Chase crouched down to speak to the grey furred Pokémon, stopping her from charging head first into the fight.
"Ditrysia's going to be battling this time, but I'd like you to watch and learn her techniques. If we ever get around to developing contest techniques, there's the possibility you may be paired with her for a battle," she explained to her most newly acquired Pokémon. Though Aislinn seemed rather disappointed that she wasn't going to be the one battling, she gave Chase a curt nod and remained stood by her trainer's side as Chase signalled for Ditrysia to take up her position.

Kristina tossed her pokéball out with a surprising grace that her personality would not have suggested she had, and out from within bloomed a Flabébé. With a quiet cry, the tiny Pokémon twitched her ears and stretched her body.
"Alright Flabébé! Open with Fairy Wind!" called Kristina. The Flabébé happily obliged, doing a small twirl on her red flower before summoning a wind of the fairy typing, attempting to make a strong start by attacking both opposing Pokémon at once.

A breeze came up all of a sudden, a gentle stream of air. In itself that would not have been a threatening thing, but this breeze cairred with it fine, glittering particles, that would very well be able to do quite a bit of damage to a Pokémon.
Thanks to the area the attack covered, even the Zubat's high speed did not allow for it to escape the attack, but his typing did alleviate the damage done.
"Kenny, Supersonic! Aim for the Butterfree!", the doctor commanded.
And the Poison type obliged, an eardrum-shattering sound emanating from the small bat, hopefully disorienting the other Flying type strongly enough to keep it from attacking.

David could feel the breeze caused by the Fairy Wind coming in his direction, dealing a decent amount of damage to Midnight due to being a Dark type. Seeing this, David knew that he would have to make a plan to lead him and Robert to victory.

"Okay Midnight, use Leer!" David said as Midnight then gave a souless stare in the direction of the opposing two pokemon. Her eyes then became a dark shade of red, giving Midnight an intimidating look to her, even more so than usual. Hopefully, this move would lower the defenses of those pokemon, which would allow for more damage in later attacks. He also hoped that the pokemon would become startled due to this, which would allow the Zubat's Supersonic to potentially hit.

"Ditrysia, use Harden!" called Chase, recognising the effects of that Leer would have on Ditrysia and quickly rectifying them by having the Butterfree harden her body's defenses. The Flabébé meanwhile recoiled a little at the Absol's Leer, but Kristina was no stranger to battling and quickly came back with a strategy to counter the doctor's Supersonic.
"Fairy Wind, protect Ditrysia!" called the young woman, repeating her last move but the Flabébé using it quite differently. Chase blinked for a moment, wondering what the tiny Pokémon was doing when it used it's Fairy Wind to surround the Butterfree. However, the attack never hurt Ditrysia. The constant swirling pink-tinted winds in close quarters merely drowned out the noise of the incoming Supersonic, preventing it from affecting the Butterfree as Robert had expected. Chase had to admire Kristina's creativity, but was definitely grateful for the move.

Taking a short moment to consider her options, Chase then spoke in an almost neutral tone to the Butterfree, who still remained close by as the Fairy Wind wore off.
"Give that Zubat a taste of his own medicine," she nodded, Ditrysia making another short trill before she took to the air. The Butterfree's eyes glowed a pale blue before she expelled a weak telekinetic force from her being, aimed mostly at Kenny.

The Zubat's speed would have allowed it to dodge most any attack, but an inate problem with most attacks of the Psychic type was, that it was almost impossible to see them and thus difficult to dodge them.
The mental energies did hit the Flying type, but Kenny had decided to frantically flutter through the air in an attempt to dodge as much of the harmful thoughts as possible.
Nevertheless the Poison type's inherent weakness to this kind of attack (however little reason it may make) was the reason for the attack still doing quite the noteworthy amount of damage.
Something needed to be done - and that quickly.
"Kenny, use Giga Drain!", a now slightly agitated gentleman commanded.
Almost immediately a greenish-white orb formed in front of the bat, quickly being launched towards the Fiabébé. As it traveled through the air, it split into three smaller beams, that were circling around each other, making the attack look quite flashy.
Even in battle style was of importance.

David did not expect this type of combination from the other two trainers, both in terms of defense and offense. He was especially surprised by how the Flabebe used Fairy Wind to defend the Butterfree from the Supersonic.  He also saw how damaging the psychic type attack must have been on the Zubat. After seeing Robert having his Zubat to use Gigi Drain on the Flabebe, David decided to go on the offensive as well.

Midnight, use Scratch on the Flabebe!" David said before Midnight started dashing towards the Flabebe behind the Zubat's Give Drain attack. He figured that if he and Robert were able to defeat one  of the two trainers Pokemon quickly, then they would be at an advantage, having to only deal with one Pokemon afterwards.

Chase, slowly getting used to the battle, quickly called out to her Butterfree.
"Ditrysia, intercept Giga Drain! String Shot!"
With another of her trills, the Butterfree flew in front of Flabébé, leaving as distance between her and the fairy type. She used String Shot, the long strings intercepting a few of the Giga Drain's tendrils. However, it did not prevent all of them from reaching her as she blocked the move's path to Kristina's Flabébé. The Giga Drain succeeded in sapping some of Ditrysia's energy, but it could not take must due to the Butterfree's natural resistance to grass type attacks.

Kristina gave Chase a nod of thanks for taking half of the burden off of Flabébé, before turning back to give her next command.
"Copycat!" she called. The Flabébé's ears glowed for a moment before she imbued the flower she resided upon the power of Midnight's Scratch attack. Flicking it up as the Absol tried to attack her, Flabébé attempted to counter with her own Scratch, Kristina relying on a hope that the Single Bloom Pokémon was stronger...
Unfortunately she had hoped wrong as she watched the Absol's attack begin to overpower Flabébé. Soon the Scratch had powered through Flabébé's copy, dealing damage to the tiny Pokémon. Not willing to let this opportunity go to waste however, Kristina called out again for Flabébé to use Fairy Wind. Tiny blue particles surrounded the Absol before emanating a small light and quickly transforming into the swirling winds that had formerly protected Ditrysia, now aiming to attack the Absol.

Lots of things had happened, but the Zubat had regained a bit of his energy. Unfortunately however the Absol seemed to be in quite a bit of a predicament at the moment, threatened by the Fiabébé's Fairy Wind.
Again the dire need for action to be taken had arisen and yet again it would have to be taken by a doctor and his companion.
"Kenny, use Astonish!", the suited gentleman ordered.
On silent wings the Zubat glided upward, high into the air.
It was his intent to return to the ground behind the Fairy type again, startling it by making otherworldly sounds andcontorting his face into a horrid grimmace. Hopefully it would be as effective as the trainer hoped.

David perked up after seeing that Midnight's Scratch attack had been successful on the Flabebe. However, he had not anticipeted the Zubat's Giga Drain being intercepted by the Butterfree like that, which would allow the Flabebe to have enough time to counter attack with Fairy Wind. Getting hit by another super effective move, Midnight was pushed back after taking some more damage, but was still fairly close to the Flabebe.

"Now use Zen Headbutt!" David said as Midnight's horn began to glow in a bright, sky blue color that engulfed the horn and then her head. Midnight then dashed towards the Flabebe again, hoping that the other pokemon wouldn't have a chance to dodge due to the close range. Using Zen Headbutt also prevented the Flabebe from using Copycat, since the Psychic type move would have no effect on the Dark Type Midnight.

"String Shot and Confusion, Ditri!" called Chase, slowly getting used to the tag battle. She was definitely learning as she went along and had already learned that in a tag battle it was important to defend your partner. For some reason both of the Pokémon on the opposing side seemed to aim directly for Kristina's Flabébé, even though Ditrysia possessed a move that was dangerous to the Zubat.

Ditrysia meanwhile heeded Chase's words, having flown after the Zubat as he flew upwards. She used String Shot in an attempt to tangle the Zubat in the string and slow it down, or maybe even cause it to fall. She then used Confusion, her normally red compound eyes glowing a pale purple as she used the psychic type move once again. This time however, she used it a little more creatively. Chase had always been curious about the psychic type, mainly because their moves were so versatile. She had found that Confusion could be used as a blunt attack, to lift things, speed them up or slow them down. This time, Ditrysia attempted to slow the Zubat down, a pale blue aura matching that of her eyes surrounding the Zubat's form as she attempted to slow him.
"Now!" called Chase, after the attempts to slow Kenny. Ditrysia then released the weak telekinetic force that was most often associated with the move Confusion, attempting to deal another super effective hit to the Zubat.

Kristina meanwhile called for Flabébé to use Vine Whip, the small flower like creature attempting to wrap the Vines around Midnight's legs and stop her Zen Headbutt attack from hitting.

The Zubat, seeing the Butterfree rise up into the air behind him and preparing quite a few attacks, decided for an alternative method of dodging. He simply did not do anything at all, not even flapping his wings, causing him to rapidly descend towards the ground again. After having fallen deep enough to escape the Butterfree's assault Kenny spread out his wings, trying to get in position for the Astonish attack again.
The gentleman's team was already at a massive disadvantage, not just because of the typings, but also because the other team had somehow found ways to dodge or otherwise evade most any attack.
Unless something would change rather quickly, the doctor's side would soon be exterminated.

David saw the Flabebe use Vine Whip in an attempt to wrap up Midnight's legs, thus stopping it from making her attack. However, David had no worries about this attack stopping Midnight in the slightest.

"Midnight, jump over it now!" David said before the Vine Whip reached Midnight, with her jumping high into the air in response. Midnight seemed to soar through the sky for a moment as she leaped through the air, flying like an eagle high in the sky. Midnight then landed to the ground behind the Flabebe, dashing towards it again in an attempt to hit it with her Zen Headbutt move, this time with the advantage of being in even closer quarters than before. Yukari watched from a distance as she seemed to be cheered David and Midnight on, wishing them the best of luck in the battle.

The Flabébé used the Absol's powerful leap as a chance to move away from where Midnight would land and turning around so that the Zen Headbutt could not catch her unaware. Kristina then called for the tiny Pokémon to use Fairy Wind again, knowing full well that if the Absol kept charging like that, it would not be able to dodge due to how close the two were to one another.

"Dive with Confusion, String Shot again!" called Chase, having to yell as Ditrysia was now high up in the air. With the Zubat beginning to drop, the Butterfree used her Confusion move to voluntarily speed up her own descent until she was close enough to once again use String Shot in an attempt to tangle the Zubat before it could reach the Flabébé and use Astonish.

Aislinn, who had been watching the battle intently since it had begun, twitched her ears, becoming distracted by something. The Minccino began to nose through Chase's bag, which had been placed nearby as the battle had started so that she wouldn't have to carry it. Chase herself didn't seem to notice the Minccino's sudden loss of interest, too absorbed in trying to protect Kristina's Flabébé from the doctor's Zubat.

The strings the Butterfree had been sending after the Zubat somehow managed to violate all laws of gravity, inertia and motion and stuck to the bat's wings, coiling around them and preventing the Poison type from using them efficiently. Thus he was flailing around helplessly, basically falling to the ground now. What the Butterfree and its trainer had not considered however was the fact, that the Fiabébé was still directly below the Zubat. And while the attack would not be made the way it was intended to be made, there would still be an impact.
On the ground meanwhile the doctor was getting worried. Kenny should have returned to the ground long ago already. Apparently the Butterfree had been stronger than they had expected for it to be.
What was going to happen now?

David didn't take into account that the Flabebe was going to move far enough so that it could avoid Midnight's Zen Headbutt while still being close enough to make sure she couldn't escape another Fairy Wind. Having been hit by a third super effective move, Midnight began showing her fatigue, her running speed beginning to decrease as she was hit. Yukari looked on at the battle, worried that Midngiht would lose. David was thinking of a way to stop this from happening.

"That Fairy Wind is a problem. Wait, wind. That's it! Midnight, stop running and use Razor Wind!" David said, causing the Absol to stop dashing immediately. Then, wind started to gather around Midnight's horn as she prepared the Razor Wind. Due to the force of that wind, the Fairy Wind surrounding Midnight was also beginning to gather around her horn, which would make the move all the more powerful when unleashed. David knew that he Midnight would need time to charge the move, but this seemed like the most effective strategy he could use at the moment.
