First topic message reminder :

As the sun was shining brightly in the clear skies above Cadencia City, David was walking into the city along with his Misdreavus, Yukari, and his Absol, Midnight, being right beside him. As the trio walked in, David and Yukari began to take in the beauty of the area they had just entered. The sparkle of the nearby waters due to the sun's shine looked absolutely magnificent, living up to what David had heard about the city's beauty. Having lived in a grassland area all of his life, David had never seen such beautiful waters before except on television, so it was a real treat to see this pure eye candy of a sight. Yukari in particular was floating all around as her curiosity took over, looking at everything and anything that she could while Midnight kept an eye on her, not caring about the beautiful location.

"You seem to really like this place Yukari." David said towards his Misdreavous friend as she nodded and continued to float around. Her eyes seemed to sparkle as much as the waters were whenever she got to see something new. David loved to see her like this, in complete bliss caused by curiosity. He continued to walk on, wondering what was in store for the trio as the walked on.

The incoming Zubat was not much problem for Flabébé as it kept moving even after using Fairy Wind lest Absol come after it once more with a Zen Headbutt attack. Kristina had been about to call out another move when Aislinn let out a short, sharp squeak in an attempt to get Chase's attention.

The squeak had the desired effect, also distracting the nearby Kristina from advising her Flabébé's next move. Ditrysia heard the squeak, recognising it easily from when she'd disturbed Aislinn's rest earlier that day. Being the protective Pokémon she was, she used the String Shot that originated from her mouth to draw in the Zubat, slowing it's descent so that she could investigate the cause. Fluttering down to the ground with the Zubat in tow and dropping it off lightly, she fluttered over to Chase to find that her trainer was crouched down and had pulled the egg she had been given out of her bag, staring at it as if in disbelief.

Aislinn had been initially distracted by the tiny sound of the egg's shell cracking and had poked around in Chase's bag out of curiosity before squeaking as loud as she did to alert Chase that the egg was hatching. She hadn't known her trainer for very long, only a few hours in fact, but she could assume that if she carried the egg everywhere with her she'd want to see it hatch.

And thus Chase seemed to completely forget about the battle she'd been participating in as the cracks in the egg grew larger. Curious, Kristina also moved over to investigate.

"Okay, Kenny, use-...", the gentleman began to command before he noticed the strange behaviour of the other Pokémon, suddenly turning their attention away from the combat.
"What in the name of ties, finely tailored business suits and other items of haberdashery is happening?"
Intrigued the doctor wandered around the battlefield, hoping to catch a glimpse of the reason for the interruption of the battle.
Whatever reason it was - it had to have been quite important. Otherwise the two ladies would not have aborted that, which they had taken part in quite passionately before.
Hopefully noone had been befallen by illness or injury over the course of their physical dispute.

"Okay Midnight, now....wait, what's going on?" David said, about to tell Midnight to use the Fairy Wind powered Razor Wind on the opposing pokemon. That was, until he saw the two trainers become distracted by something, taking their mind and their pokemon's minds off of the battle. David thought that it must have been something important, otherwise those two wouldn't have taken their mind off of the tag battle.

"Is something happening? Midnight, maybe you shouldn't..." David said, thinking that Midnight probably shouldn't attack now because of whatever was happening. However, the Absol was too focused on the battle to notice whatever was happening and after finishing her charging, launched the power Razor Wind towards the two trainers pokemon. David sighed as she did this, knowing that it was probably not the best time to do this, but he couldn't stop her if he tried. Whenever Midnight got really into battle, she tends to get more ferocious and uncaring, acting like a predator at times. That's just how she was.

The blue and white coloured egg continued to crack until the cracks began to glow with a pink energy and split apart completely, revealing a Meditite to have hatched from the egg. Both Chase and Kristina seemed to watch the Pokémon with curiosity, their eyes full of a we for the beautiful spectacle they had just witnessed. They had just watched the birth of a Pokémon after all.

The Meditite blinked for a second, adjusting to the open world, her ability no longer blocked by the shell of the egg in which she had grown. Tilting her head to the side for a moment, she seemed to notice something specific with her natural Telepathy ability. As if by instinct, the young Pokémon got to her feet and leaped in front of Flabébé and Ditrysia, realising the Absol's intention to attack now that Razor Wind had had enough time to charge. Acting quickly, the Meditite's leaped into the air, letting her instinct guide her as she harnessed her natural abilities to deal a hit to the Absol's horn, intending to change the direction of the Razor Wind attack out of surprise and protect those who had looked after her as she remained within her shell. The attack was not a move itself, but a normal punch, the Meditite hoping to startle the Absol rather than harm it.

After this, the Meditite landed on the ground, standing on wobbly feet as she seemed to realise that she hadn't quite learned how to use them properly. In awe of the Meditite, Chase jogged over to help the young Pokémon balance, lifting her into her arms with a large grin on her face.

All the time Robert could just watch in amazement, surprising by the quick and effective actions the newly born Pokémon had taken.
"The miracle of life...", he whispered.
So this was the reason for which the two ladies had decided to turn their attention away from the fight - a completely understandable reason and to the gentleman's relief also one that would not have any negative impact on things. While Robert had seen many Pokémon hatch before due to his profession it always was a wonderful, incredible spectacle to see a new lifeform appear like this.
Creation of new life - was it just a natural phenomenon or was there something else behind it.
Maybe some day the world would know.

After looking closer at where the two trainers were, David saw that there was an egg about to hatch. It now made sense to him as to why the two trainers had gotten distracted from the battle. David saw the scene of the Meditite's birth and just stared in pure awe. Despite being at a daycare for most of his life, David had never seen a pokemon's birth before. But now, he could see a Meditite born right before his own eyes. Yukari stared at the scene as well, with extreme curiosity as to what exactly was happening. The scene had also slightly distracted Midnight as well, which would give the newborn Meditite enough time to land it's punch onto her, causing Midnight to loose her focus. This caused the Razor Wind sent out before to fly over the heads of the trainers, not making any contact. David didn't really know what to say. So much had just happened in such a short amount of time. All he could do was just continue to stand there and see what happened.

The Meditite stared at Chase as she lifted the newly hatched Pokémon into her arms. It stared for a moment before seemingly recognising Chase as the one who had spoken to her when she was within her shell and smiling at the young trainer. Realising the grin that was on her face, Chase's smile faltered for a second before she smiled back at the Meditite once more, though this time more subtly.

Kristina meanwhile watched the Meditite with wide eyes, Flabébé having been called back over after the young Pokémon had prevented Razor Wind from hitting. She seemed to have become overwhelmed by the hatching of the Meditite, but soon her expression also switched to a small smile.
The miracle of life... she thought, as she heard Robert's words. They were true, really. Witnessing the birth of a Pokémon was definitely something she had never experienced before. How amazing would it be to be able to see that miracle every day... to help such a young Pokémon to grow.

Everything and everyone had fallen quiet as the Meditie began to discover the world for itself.
Noone dared to speak, maybe in order not to scare the Fighting type, maybe because they were still dumbfounded by the surprise of the hatching, or maybe out of respect for the beauty of nature.
Even as the stray Razor WInd knocked the gentleman's hat off of his head, he dared not to speak another word lest he might ruin this magical moment.
Silently he picked it up from the ground, brushing off the dirt and never averting his eyes from the miracle in front of him.
Only now did it truly dawn on him, everything he had missed in the time he spent focussed on his work back home.
He had made the correct descision - that was clear now.

"Well, this has certainly been an interesting day." David thought as he continued to stand in complete awe at the scene that had just happened in front of him. Earlier today, he assumed that this was going to be a normal where he and his pokemon companions would explore this new city. However, that quickly turned into a series of events that David couldn't have possibly seen coming. He had meet a group of interesting pokemon trainer, taken part in a tag battle, and now just witnessed the birth of a Meditite. These kinds of days are what he truly loved about life. You can never really know what to expect, but that makes things much more interesting.

'Oh, I'm sorry about Midnight's attack earlier. She tends to get caught up in battles sometimes. Really sorry." David said in a quiet tone so he wouldn't startle the newborn Meditite, apologizing for Midnight's actions that nearly hurt the baby.

A Wild Dewott Attacks!
Tagging Time - Page 3 502
Level 18 || 3 Exp Giveout
Prove to this Dewott that you're a good parent. Alternatively, defeat him in battle.
Male || Shell Armor
Razor Shell | Focus Energy
Tail Whip | Grass Knot
Copycat | Protect
This Dewott was abandoned as soon as he was hatched, simply because he wasn't 'Shiny', and he didn't have much 'Worth'. This caused him to have the mindset that 'Trainers aren't good parents' and made him want to 'liberate' newborns or eggs. Sometimes he isn't successful, but sometimes...
This Pokemon is uncatchable.

A Wild Dratini appeared!
Tagging Time - Page 3 147
Level 5 || 2 Exp Give out
Show her that humans can be nice. Alternatively, knock out the Dewott, or this Dratini.
Female || Shed Skin
Wrap | Leer
Thunder Wave | Hail
This Dratini is just simply looking for adventure. Having been 'freed' when she was just an egg, she always is curious about Humans and why her 'Papa' hates them. But she often tags along to help anyways. Her favorite move is Hail, although she doesn't get the fact that it harms her as well as her opponents.

Chase hugged the young Meditite before putting her gently down on the ground again and crouching so that she was as low as she could be, petting the Meditite's head affectionately. She hadn't known what Pokémon would be within the egg, but if her parents had had any say in it then they had definitely chosen well. The young Meditite looked healthy, and embodied a new hope for Chase's desire to learn more about the mysterious psychic type.
"Oh that's right, you need a name..." Chase chuckled. She stood for a moment and considered a few options. She already knew the Meditite was female due to the gender differences their species held.
"How about, Amani?" she suggested. The Meditite smiled slightly at the name, "You like that?"
The newly dubbed Amani nodded gently, placing a hand on Chase's knee to steady herself, still not quite solid on her feet.

As Kristina watched the two interact, she realised that perhaps modelling was not her true calling after all. Perhaps she was much more suited to a career involving Pokémon. Returning Flabébé to her pokéball, Kristina grinned to the three who had agreed to battle her.
"Thanks you three," she smiled, turning Chase's attention from the newly hatched Amani to the young trainer.
"I guess without you i'd still be held up on my modelling career. Maybe being fired wasn't so bad after all," she commented with a hesitant chuckle.

Even though it would still be beautiful to watch, Robert had to divert his attention from the newly born Psychic type, wandering off to the field of battle again to pick up his Zubat.
"You did great back there, buddy.", he whispered, carefully trying to remove the webbing, that had stuck together the Flying type's wings.
But as there had been quite the abundance of strings used in the battle, it would take the gentleman quite some time to free his partner again, even though he was trained in the medical profession.
Thus he was still working on this problem as he had returned to the other trainers, not having had the chance to listen to the other trainers' conversation.

"Oh, no problem. Glad we could help." David said in response to Kristina's statement, happy that he was able to make her feel better and that he got the chance to participate in the interesting tag battle. This had finally taken his mind off of the birth scene of the Meditite that he had just witnessed, which allowed him to think more clearly. That battle had really been interesting, and it definitly taught him a few tricks. David was slightly disappointed that they never finished the tag battle, but the scene that caused it to end was worth it. Those kinds of unexpected and incredible scenes are what made life really worth living.

"Good job in the battle Midnight. Just try not to hit other when the battle ends okay?" David said, commenting on Midnight's actions earlier with the Razor Wind. She shrugged slightly upon hearing this, somewhat dissapointed with herself at how she lost control like that.

Despite normally being quite the preceptive individual, Chase completely missed David's apology for Midnight's attack. She had been nurturing the egg for what felt like ages, so accidentally ignoring someone was unintentional, but unavoidable as Chase's undivided attention was held by the newly hatched Meditite, her curiosity having overcome her.

Still interacting with the Meditite, she wandered with it, over to where Ditrysia hovered. The Butterfree watched Amani fondly as Chase dug through her bag for one of her spare Pokéballs. A cheerful trill later and Chase found what she was looking for, holding the ball out for Amani to see. Taking a short moment to explain what it was, Chase asked the young Pokémon if she would journey the Rinko region with her, to help her learn and discover more about psychic Pokémon.

Amani seemed to stare at the ball for a moment, processing all of the information. She could tell through her Telepathy ability that Chase felt extremely strongly about her future goals, but before she could make a decision, the ball was knocked from Chase's hand in a flash of blue.

Before anyone could even react, a strange, blue flash knocked the Pokéball out of the hand of the young lady. What was that? And why had it targeted an empty Pokéball?
The group would find out soon enough. For now the gentleman held his Zubat in one hand, using the other one to pick up the dropped piece of machinery the flash had knocked to the floor and handing it back to its owner. He then quickly resumed freeing his Poison-typed friend from more of the String Shot residue, that was still hindering the Zubat. While he did so, the doctor muttered:
"What could that have been? Has anyone of you seen, what this being was?"

David saw the blue flash knock the ball out of the trainer's hand and onto the ground. David began looking around to see what could have cause the blue flash in the first place, with Yukari and Midnight doing the same. After looking around for a bit, Midnight shouted out a roar, notifying that she had seen something. Looking in the direction Midnight was looking in, David and Yukari could see a Dewott of in the distance. Being a water type Pokemon, it was clear that the Dewott had probably made the blue flash in the first place using a certain attack.

"Oh, a Dewott. That interesting. But why would it knock away that pokeball?" David said, wondering why the Pokemon did what it did. He then saw the Dewott start to walk towards to the group, seeming to be staring at Chase for some reason.

Chase blinked as the Pokéball was sent rolling across the empty plaza before turning to see what had caused it to do so. The newly dubbed Amani had hopped backward a step in surprise, only to wobble on her feet again and have to use a hand on the ground to steady herself.

Ditrysia turned to the Dewott with narrowed eyes, before trilling what seemed to be a question to the water type as it recaught it's Razor Shell that it had thrown like a boomerang to knock the ball from Chase's grasp.
"What was that for?!" the Butterfree seemed to ask. Chase watched on in confusion, understanding the tone and feeling of Ditrysia's question to the other Pokémon and waiting to see how it would react.

"Huh, that certainly was unexpected. I didn't think Dewott would even show up this far into the city. Maybe it ran away from its trainer. But why would it act like this?", Robert commented, wondering about the reasons for what they had seen just moments ago.
Finally having freed Kenny from the aftermath of the battle, the Zubat was now perching on the gentleman's shoulder.
"Don't do anything just yet.", he advised his companion. We don't know enough yet. Maybe there is another way to settle this situation than just the application of crass physical violence."
And indeed the doctor hoped that there was one, for he had always been opposed to the brute-force method of problem solving.

"Hmm, he doesn't seem to be in the best of moods." David said, still watching the Dewott walk towards the group. He was still trying to figure out why the Dewott was acting like this. David could see a serious look on it's face as it continued to walk, looking somewhat distressed. Maybe it had a bad day or something, or stubbed it's toe earlier. Whatever the reason, the Dewott wasn't happy with the group and could be potentially dangerous.

"Um, hello. Could we help you with anything?" David said as he attempted to greet the Dewott, trying to change it's attitude in someway. Midnight still kept an eye on Dewott just in case it did something that could harm Yukari or David.

Kristina blinked at the Dewott's appearance. She wondered if she should do something, but was hesitant to attack the other Pokémon as it seemed to already be frustrated or irritable for some reason. At least as far as she could tell.

The Dewott stopped walking a short distance away from Ditrysia, facing her with the scalchop still in it's paw. For a moment it seemed like the Dewott wasn't going to answer at all, or perhaps even attack, but after a hesitant moment of glancing between each of the four trainers present and their Pokémon, he replied back to the Butterfree in a Dewott's unique tongue.
"What right do they have to confine hatchlings to balls when they will only abandon them," the Dewott replied, it's voice gruff and aimed mostly at Ditrysia as the humans would not understand what he was saying.

"What does it want?" Chase asked the Butterfree, her voice laced with an underlying tone of worry. She had more chance of understanding the Pokémon friend she'd known most of her life than the Dewott that she'd only seen for about two minutes.

The young Meditite felt like she should say something, but young in herself, she didn't quite have the words to speak up, despite understanding most of what the Dewott said.

It had not taken any further physical action, but the Dewott had begun to speak.
However, since Robert was not able to understand anything it was trying to communicate and Kenny's means of communication were limited heavily, the group still knew next to nothing about the intentions and motivations of this extraordinary Pokémon.
Yet the Zubat had understood the Dewott's speech, deciding to protest nonverbally by putting one of his wings around his trainer's head in the "arm-over-shoulder"-fashion.
While Robert could not explain his partner's actions, he did blush at the sudden display of affection the Flying type had shown towards him. What was the Water type thinking?

"Hmph, I doubt this trainer will be good to this newly hatched pokemon. I should be the one to raise. At least then, it won't be abandoned." The Dewott said in it's pokemon speech, his voice sounding much more angry then before. It stared as the newly hatched Meditite with a determined look in it's eyes, as if the Dewott wanted to take it away. It then clicked in David's head that the Dewott might want to do something with the Meditite, with how it seemed to act towards Chase and her newly hatched companion.

"It looks like the Dewott is focussing it's attention on the Meditite. It must be interested in it for some reason." David said, trying to figure out what the Dewott's intentions were.

Ditrysia landed neatly on Chase's head before trilling back at the Dewott again, defending her trainer protectively.
"I've known Chase for most of my life and she wouldn't abandon Amani," she cried out in her species's unique language, trying to convince the Discipline Pokémon that his narrow views of trainers did not apply to her friend.

Chase seemed to add everything together as Ditrysia and the Dewott conversed, based on the Dewott's actions and glances. Getting to her feet she gently went over to Amani and crouched down beside her once more.
"I hope you know that it's your choice whether you want to stay with me but if you did choose to come with me I would never leave you or abandon you," she spoke with the young Meditite, having realised the gravity of the Dewott's mood and accusations.

The gentleman was obviously surprised.
"Huh? Do you understand what this Pokémon is attempting to do?", the doctor asked his companions.
"Somehow I get the feeling that I may be the only one out of the loop here..."
With no idea on what to do, the man turned his attention towards the young Dragon type.
Why was it here? The Dewott seemed to have come here for a reason, but the serpentine creature had not performed a single action since it had arrived at the scene.
Robert got down on his knees in an attempt to look less imposing and threatening, talking to the Dragon type.
"Hello, little one. What are you doing out here, all alone? I don't think your kind is native to these regions. Do you need help maybe?"

Seeing that Chase seemed to get what the Dewott's intentions were, David gave a small smile in her direction, hoping that her actions would get rid of the Dewott's angry attitude. That pokemon seemed to be worried for the newly hatched Meditite for some reason that he didn't understand, but hopefully Chase's actions would make it feel better about the Meditite being in her hands...or pokeballs. David then turned his attention to Robert and saw that he was kneeling down to talking to something. Turning his head a bit more, he could see a little serpentine like pokemon that didn't seem to be moving at all. David quickly identifued this pokemon as a Dratini, having learned about it in his studies.

"A Dratini. Interesting, more than just the Dewott have appeared." David said, curious as to why the Dratini was here. Yukari looked at the Dratini and having not seen one before, gave a little shout of excitement as she began to float towards the serpentine pokemon, with Midnight giving chase after her. David began walking towards them as well when he suddenly felt a feeling of Deja Vu, since this same kind of event is what caused this whole encounter to happen. David chuckled at this thought as he continued towards his pokemon companions heading for the Dratini.
