THREAD TYPES AND TRAVELING Empty THREAD TYPES AND TRAVELING

THREAD TYPES
Seeing as this is a roleplaying site, threads are a very important part of Rinko. We have two types of them and we also have a system for traveling to other towns. The thread types are categorized as Standard and Mono-RP, though more may be added in the future.

Standard Threads
Standard threads make up the majority of threads. They have users posting as their characters to tell a story with no special conditions. They can request encounters and interact with each other as they see fit. There are no special markings to tell these threads as any thread without them will automatically be standard. They follow the rules regularly. You may have an unlimited amount of these threads ongoing at one time, but if we find you can't handle we may ask you to close some.

Mono-RP Threads
Mono-RP threads are more stories than roleplays. They focus on the user's character going off and doing something on their own or features two or more of the same user's characters interacting with each other. You may make one post every three good sized paragraphs so you can gain a few extra Pokédollars and posts. You do not have to finish the Mono-RP all at once so you can take your time with them if you'd like, but each of your characters can only be in one unfinished Mono-RP at a time. If you had three characters and two were in a work in progress Mono-RP thread, the third could either join the incomplete one or have one by themself. The two already in one cannot be in another.

There are two key differences between Mono-RPs and Standard ones. As many encounters as the user requests can be spawned at the start and can be encountered in any order. This is good for those who want to plan their story better and know what they have to work with. Mono-RPs are also graded when finish and the author of the thread is often given extra Pokédollars and some EXP for their efforts.  When a Mono-RP thread is finished you can request for it to be graded HERE.

Mono-RPs should have [MONO] in the title. You can change the bracket and capitalization style of it, but it must be in the title.

TRAVELING

Various means of transportation are available in Rinko so if you wanted your character to jump back and forth across the region, that's fine as long as you give an explanation. However, if you want your character to be elegable for partaking in Contests and Gym Battles, you need to follow our rule for traveling on routes. That rule is simply that there must be 3 satisfied Trainer or Pokémon encounters in a route traveling thread for it to count. Once you have the required encounters you may battle the Gym Leader or join in a Contest in either of the towns adjacent to the route. That means you do not need to travel every route to have traveled to every town, but to face the Champion or join in a Grand Festival you must have traveled to every town.
