King of the Beach - Page 2 Empty King of the Beach

Post by Lazarus Sun May 25, 2014 7:38 pm

First topic message reminder :

The day was young, but aged at the same time as it was high noon at the beach off to the side of Cadencia and the young man by the name of Justin King approached it. He had come in search of a new partner for his team, one that had the potential to a variety of move sets. Usually, water pokemon fit this category with their ability to learn water, ice, normal, and occasionally even electric and grass.

Off to the boy's side, a houndour obediently strode beside him with proud steps. Her head was held high as if she held superiority while her trainer seemed more passive and waiting for something to happen.

"So, what do you think we'll find?" he spoke to Ira, his houndour. His pokemon only opened an eye before closing it once more and continuing on the important task at hand, finding another pokemon to bring into the team.

"Even though I can't understand you you could at least respond," Justin huffed before the duo fell into silence. Ira was being a bit moody lately, causing Justin to wonder if she didn't quite like the idea of getting another pokemon in their team.

King of the Beach - Page 2 Empty Re: King of the Beach

The pup seemed as if it were about to charge forth once more to continue the attack after putting some effort into stopping himself before he smashed into Chase's legs, but he was stopped as he hesitated. The attack was affecting him, his ears lowered as the cuteness virus infected him.

"Leer!" Justin ordered, the Leer attack would put damage back to equal if the Minccino caught eyes with the leering Beezlebub. The small lillipup gave a bark of acknowledgement and squinted slightly at the Minccino, a slight red glow came to his eyes and a deep growl rumbled from the pup's throat as he attempted to intimidate the chinchilla and lower its defenses.

"Use Pound!" called Chase, attempting to prevent the Leer from working, but Aislinn didn't charge in time due to the two not being used to battling as one and so felt the effects of the odd Leer before she began running toward the Lillipup. The Minccino drew closer until she could swat the puppy Pokémon with her thick, fluffy tail, it glowing pale white with the effects of Pound.

The pup was slammed with the pound attack, he gave a yelp as he was knocked away a foot or so. The sand flew as the pup stopped itself and he turned back to the chinchilla, a playful growling noise rumbling from its throat, "Play Rough!" his trainer called again.

The lillipup began to glow purple once more, and used the small distance that had been created by the fluffy grey creature's pound attack to give it less reaction time, taking advantage of distance because of the attack's naturally slight inaccuracy.

Justin watched as Beezlebub battled, this certainly wasn't the prettiest of his performances, since there was nothing really beautiful going on. It bugged him a bit, he had to be a pretty horrible coordinator to not be able to do anything. Although it wasn't really his fault was it? The pup didn't have very many moves, and Play Rough was pretty much its only option in a battle aside from odor sleuth, which was pointless in using it.

What would tackle do though? The pup usually had a white aura to it, would the colors blend and create a lighter color of the pure pink from the fairy type move?

"Mix it with tackle." the coordinator added quickly before the pup began its attack. The pup didn't seem to respond vocally like it usually did, but the pink fairy move suddenly became lighter in a more rosy pink as a slight streak trailed behind the lillipup as the canine began to attack the Minccino once more.

"Use Pound to counter!" called Chase. She knew that at close quarters the Minccino could still attempt a dodge, but rather than take that risk Chase had opted to counter what she could of Beezlebub's double attack. As the Minccino flicked her body around so that her tail would collide with the Lillipup's attack, her own move seemed to take on the rosy pink qualities of the move combination that Beez was using, as if the sweeping motion of the Minccino's tail had swept up the colouful effect. This did not protect her from all the damage however and she was eventually knocked back by the puppy Pokémon's strength.

Putting a paw to the ground to stop herself from skidding too far away, the Minccino flicked her tail in frustration. It was clear that the Lillipup was stronger than her and had more experience in battle. On the plus side, that previous physical contact gave a chance for Aislinn's Cute Charm ability to kick in. Her other ability, Technician, powered up her Pound move, but not to the point where it could counter the use of two moves at once.
"Rest!" called Chase before Justin could call in another attack from Beez.

Lady Luck seemed to be on the Minccino's side as the lillipup's pupils seemed to transform into hearts and Beezlebub became infatuated with the adorable chinchilla as it curled up to use its Rest to regain health. The chances of the lillipup listening to Justin were now half and half and may as well just flip a coin to determine whether or not the pup would be able to attack.

Justin cursed in his mind, it was in these situations that he would usually switch out, and he would have had the sense to switch to a pokemon of the same gender. The coordinator refused though, as this was a one on one battle and the purpose of it was to get Beezlebub to stop being so energetic for even an hour if they could.

The coordinator, unknowing that his attempts would be futile, called out to his canine. He ordered Beezlebub to use Play Rough once more and to attack the small sleeping pokemon while it was in its deep slumber. He was let down as the pup merely walked over to the chinchilla and rested his head on his paws and laid down next to Aislinn, watching her sleep with his tail wagging as the Cute Charm took affect.

Chase couldn't believe her luck as the puppy Pokémon merely lay down next to Aislinn as she slept, the Minccino glowing with a faint green colour as her health was slowly replenished. Aislinn definitely had a useful mix of abilities, however the Lillipup's passiveness was not about to cause Chase to concede. She had one last move of Aislinn's to test out and with the young Minccino now asleep once more, this was the perfect time to see what it was like.
"Use Snore," she spoke, realising that a command issued whilst sleeping would most likely be subconsciously answered. Aislinn seemed to flick her tail in her sleep, before she parted her jaws as if to yawn, only to emit a loud, ear piercing sound wave in the form of an attack. The normally weaker attack would again be strengthened by Aislinn's Technician ability, and if Beezlebub didn't wake from his infatuation he was going to be in trouble.

The pup yelped as he backed away, pawing at his ears as the loud piercing sound nearly deafened him. His eyes began to shine as if he were about to cry as he crawled back to the Minccino, a look of hurt on his face as if he were saying, "Why did you do that? How could you do that?"

Justin was losing his patience with the pup being unable to attack, "Beez, snap out of it!" he called out to the puppy pokemon, "Play Rough!" he ordered once more in a bit of a harsher tone, hoping to snap the puppy back to reality through surprise. His plans failed as the puppy continued to stare with a hurt look at the minccino, completely disregarding his coordinator.

((Note: Justin isn't being mean to Beezlebub, he's just trying to help him out of the infatuation state))

Unfortunately for Beezlebub, the Minccino was still sleeping, regaining her strength with that ever present green glow. If she had been awake however, she would likely have been rather amused by the Lillipup's change in behaviour due to the effects of Cute Charm.

Chase had to stifle a small chuckle herself, though the remnants of a small smile of amusement still crossed her face as she called for Aislinn to use Snore a second time. The Lillipup was usually so eager and excitable, so to see him utterly infatuated with Aislinn was quite the stark contrast.

The sleeping Minccino meanwhile used Snore again, releasing the loud, deafening noise from her parted jaws once more.

The lillipup gave another yelp, this attack doing even more damage as a critical hit. The yelping continued before the small lillipup finally fled inside his pokeball, forfeiting on its own as he no longer desired to put up with the loud snoring nor to attack the small and adorable Minccino that had struck it with its cute charm.

Justin blinked has his pokemon seemed to have forfeited as he refused to fight any longer. He tried to bring the lillipup back out, but the pokeball remained still as Beez refused to fight any longer. Although Justin felt a bit sour towards the loss, he spoke, "Well, I guess you win. At least that'll stop him from running off every few seconds.

With a hesitant smile, Chase replied,"Glad I could help somehow, I guess." The remnants of her stifled chuckles were still present as the Lillipup forfeited of his own accord rather than remain immobilised any longer.

Aislinn meanwhile woke from her slumber with a small yawn. Blinking and looking around as if to ask 'it's over already?' With a small flick of her tail, she seemed to shrug and scamper back over to Chase. Though she hadn't intended to capture the Minccino, Chase had to admit Aislinn was definitely a worthy addition to her little group; she seemed to take a liking to Chase herself too, though the young trainer wasn't entirely sure why.

Justin was about to say more, but something off in the distance had caught his eye, something in the water was coming right towards the beach. He looked at it, confused since he hadn't quite seen anyone else, besides Chase, here today.

It wasn't long before a woman slipped onto the shore in a bikini, she seemed a bit overly confident in a bit of a crazed fashion as she pointed at both of them with both of her hands, "You two! Battle! Now!"

Justin blinked in confusion, "Um...what?" he responded.

The girl in the bikini took out two pokeballs and tossed them into the water. It wasn't long before a quilfish and a chinchou surfaced, both seemed to bubble with excitement, "Both of you, right now. Battle me, the great Wyndra!"

Chase had noticed Justin get sidetracked before he spoke whatever he had been intending to say and followed his gaze to a woman in a bikini returning to the shore after swimming in the ocean. Before she had much time to even acknowledge the appearance of the woman, she seemed to order them into a battle with her.

"Uh..." she blinked, not exactly knowing what to say. She was a little uncomfortable with being dragged into a battle like this out of nowhere. Aislinn however seemed to have other ideas, quickly turning her attention away from Chase and scampering a little closer to where the woman named Wyndra had emerged from the ocean to challenge them.
"Ccino!" she called out, showing that she was more than willing to battle again.
