Occupation: Trainer, aspiring journalist.
Personality: Strong willed and somewhat feisty, Sam is a relatively good natured boy with a habit of sticking his nose into other people’s business. He tends to be a bit energetic and friendly with others, expressing genuine interest in the people he meets along his way but also tending to keep up a sharp wit and sense of sarcasm, which can be taken in a good or bad way at times. When push comes to shove he can be a bit temperamental and be quick to get angry, and when flight or flight instinct kicks in he’s more of a both figurative and physical fighter. He can be seen as a bit nosy and over-energetic at times.
Likes: Being an aspiring journalist as previously stated, Sam loves to write about events going on and investigating things, be it people, events, groups, anything. If there’s something for him to write about, he’ll be making an effort to be there. He’s also a fan of music, enjoying the more classic rock and roll type. Anything that provides a mental challenge to him is interesting to him as well, be it people he doesn’t understand or puzzles.
Dislikes: People who are too serious or lack a sense of humor in his eyes quickly begin to get on Sam’s nerves, as he thinks nobody should be too uptight at all times and that it’s important to relax. Another thing he dislikes is people who try to push others around or be imposing. Being a relatively free spirit, he enjoys being able to do whatever and dislikes when others see fit to judge himself or others and try to make them do other things.
Appearance: Sam has a lighter colored skin complexion, along with a darker hue of red hair and brown eyes. As far as clothing goes, his usual attire consists of a plain sleeveless shirt and blue jeans, along with a white hooded sweatshirt he wears when it’s colder, but keeps tied around his waist otherwise. On his left arm he wears two armbands, and wears sneakers.

History: Sam was born in the Unova region, and was the son of Robert and Angela Henry. Robert was an archaeologist that assisted in digging up new fossils and other such things, and met Angela when she came with him to a site in order to write about it, as she was a reporter. The two started to see each other more, and eventually had both a daughter named Carla, and then Sam himself.

Growing up, Sam and Carla were close siblings, often doing many things together and acting more like friends. With his parents having the jobs they do, Carla was undoubtedly the family member he spent the most time with, and he grew to admire her.

This isn't to say that he didn't spend much time with the rest of his family. Robert would occasionally bring them to an archaeological site, and Angela would talk to Sam about new stories. Hearing about everything she would write about, he started to become inspired to be like her, and began wanting to write and report about things like she did.

When he was out with his father at an archaeological site, one of Robert's co-workers had found a Pokemon egg hidden in the area. Debating what to do with it, the egg was given to Sam to hold onto, and it hatched into a Riolu. Sam was able to keep the Pokemon, and she became his first Pokemon, followed by a Pawniard he caught a bit later on.

Eventually, Carla left home in reorder to pursue her own interests as a Pokemon trainer, and went on to travel around the region. Seeing his close sibling and role model leave and begin her own journey was somewhat saddening for him, but soon he dismissed those thoughts. His parents had heard about a new region, and thought it might be a good idea to allow him to travel there on his own. Determined to be able to be just as good as he imagined his sister was, Sam left and traveled to the region with his partners.
Extra:He always carries a small notepad with him and a pen, in case he finds anything noteworthy. Also carries a music player in his pocket plugged into his headphones, in case he wants to listen to something.
