Personality: Robert is a kind, gentle and honourable man. He always tries to keep his word and would never hurt an innocent being. Additionally he has a soft spot for things others may consider "girly". For example baking, painting and a particular show on TV. Robert always tries to use as little violence as possible. However if you threaten anyone he holds dear, then he will not hesitate to punch your nose to the back of your head if neccessary. While he prefers wandering alone with his Pokémon, Robert is not opposed to someone accompanying him on his journey, often acting almost like a father towards the other person if they are not a total prick.

History:  Robert had a fairly normal childhood, growing up as the son of a journalist and a Nurse Joy. His mother's job played a big factor in deciding his future carreer. After gradudating university, Robert worked in a small medical office in Cadencia City until he took over a few years ago. Lately however he has gotten bored a bit and thus decided to let another doctor handle the office, wandering through the world to try his hand at Pokémon combat and do whatever else he wanted to do along the way.
The Zubat belonged to a patient of his he could not save. Since she had no friends or relatives, Robert adopted it.
